People who got this card - when were you charged the annual fee? With the first statement or at some later point?
got charged in the first statement. However I managed to get the 70k points with the month as well.
In my experience no they don't make those types of offers.Any tips on how to get an offer of say some more points when going to cancel? Does NAB do this?
I have had my card about 6 months and don't fancy the hit to my credit rating of applying for a new card with a different provider at the moment.
Disappointing, but I guess not unexpected. In my experience no they don't make those types of offers.
I wasn't aware of that thanks. So seeing I got a card last year I could cancel and reapply almost straight away? Would they record a credit enquiry against my profile, giving a hit to my credit rating? But you should cancel as soon as possible. NAB don't have a 12 month exclusion period like some others, so you can reapply as soon as a new offer has been made.
Certainly that would, but at the moment I don't fancy a hit to my credit rating if they would lodge another enquiry against my account.I've had 4 NAB cards in the last 12 months. The sign up bonuses well exceed anything they might have offered for staying with them.

got my 70k points today. Now onto step 3. Can you close this account online or do you have to call?
Do things like council rates and driver's licences (ie: Government charges) count towards the $1500 spend, even if they may not earn points? I'm ready to stop spending on this card, but I want to make sure I have reached my $1500 minimum spend for the 60,000 bonus points (bummer - I wish I had known about the 70,000!)
I have taken your advice and called my NAB card. So the current offer expires at the end of the July. If they extend it would an offer expiring after July count as a new offer? Hope they do another offer for 60,000 points or 70,000 points. The current offer of 20,000 points is quite poor in comparison. But you should cancel as soon as possible.
