Hi,

I've just booked FRA-JFK SQ26 on https://www.singaporeair.com/; the email confirmation says this:

Please contact your local Singapore Airlines office at +65 6223 8888 (or travel agent) to complete your booking.

The booking otherwise appears complete: I have a booking reference and ticket number, and I can manage the booking on the website.

What do they need me to call for in order to "complete your booking"? Can I call the Australian number instead?

Thanks.

In case anyone encounters this same issue, I'll answer my own questions:

I just called the Australian SQ 13 number: the person I spoke to had no idea why the email requested me to call to complete the booking. He went through all the details of the booking and my contact details to confirm that they were correct, and checked that the booking had been ticketed, so that reassures me that there shouldn't be a problem. But I'm still none the wiser about why I was requested to call.

SQ has been having plenty of problems with its website. The bugs in their new website does not look like its not been fixed. I gave up on the website and now book through a TA even though I can't select my seat etc. Its pretty annoying to see that SQ is doing nothing to change this.

Yes, all their global numbers go through the same IVR (as far as I know). Call the number which is cheapest / easiest based on where you are.

I don't know why you get that message, but it's easiest to call and get them to sort it out. Any fees should be waived.

FWIW I normally do the 'base' booking through the website to get the right merchant ID on my credit card statement (double points). I then immediately call them to do everything else to my booking (e.g. seat selections, meals, additional info, etc). They then re-send everything with the ammended info.

It sounds convoluted, but this method is actually quicker.
