I think you Mean VH-VZT ...
No, I meant VZS as it operated the QF1013 flight last Friday.

FWIW, VZT has operated the following flights:
Code:
21/10/11

  QF610 MEL BNE
  QF667 BNE ADL
  QF664 ADL BNE
  QF635 BNE MEL

22/10/11

  QF610 MEL BNE
  QF617 BNE MEL
  QF818 MEL CBR
  QF819 CBR MEL

23/10/11

  QF677 MEL ADL
  QF736 ADL SYD
  QF761 SYD ADL
  QF766 ADL SYD
(Scheduled to be doing CNS/BNE/TSV today and tomorrow)

I was fortunate to do a points upgrade to J CNS - BNE a few weeks back on VZR.

Very comfortable although the CSM was having familiarity problems with the new aircraft - including the operation of the new screens.

Haven't tried my usual 4A yet ...

I had VZO this morning from ADL. It looked exactly the same as the earlier picture. (as much as I noticed at 6am after being beeped at the gate and not getting an upgrade, unlike a staffie) There was another VZ at the next gate, and I'm pretty sure it was VZS.

Oh and I had VZM SYD-ADL a month or 2 back.

Hi everyone,

Just want to confirm that the ne 737-800 does have leather J seats. Photos of the new interior will be available soon. And any new 737-800 to the fleeet will have the same new interior.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Sat on a new 737-800 tonight from SYD-ADL..........IFE in seats needed rebooting, but was still impressed. Impressed as I didn't have a 737-400 as too many of my ADL flights have been, impressed that the new plane didn't go to jet connect...and impressed enough to consider not shifting to VA on this route if this becomes mainstream. Thank you qantas x

I was on the new domestic 737-800 last week (Mount Isa - Brisbane) and was lucky enough to also recieve a comp to Business - as the aircraft ended up doing a shuttle run to Townsville, wait till refueled (delay due to fuel truck operator being out of communication - so no avgas!!) then down to BNE. About a 5.5 hour trip!!

The business seats are the A380 style premium economy seats. Footrests not as comfy as the old business seats used to be and the arm-rests narrower too. Cabin aisle appears also to be narrower - but overall cabin experience much more "fresh" and AVOD in seat backs now (in both classes) - with access to full range of Q entertainment options.

No leather seats in business though - these were the usual grey cloth material?? Have heard the business seats are supposed to be leather but have not yet seen them.

OK so now I'm really confused. Red Roo (who I'm not questioning) and various articles say that J seats will be leather and yet the aircraft that members have sampled are cloth. So which is it or do we have yet another aircraft variation in the QF fleet?

I was confused as well, according to the Qantas facebook page a leather covering is to be placed over the cloth material.

Sounds seriously random and dodgy to me!!

I suppose this will provide "extra" padding for us WP's when comped up the front - lol.

Can't wait to see the cloth throw rug covering the faux leather covering the cloth.......whew.

I'm afraid, despite being a die-hard QF supporter, I can't help coveting the new Virgin interiors. I plan to sample their wares as part of the status match deal - and will provide all the juicy tid-bits here via a later post - WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

I was on the new BSI-interior aircraft last night, QF548. It's the VH-VZT registration and only went into service at the end of last week. It is the only QF aircraft so far with the full BSI interior, which includes red leather seats in J. I was in seat 3A.

The seat was very comfy. (And I'm generally not a fan of leather seats on aircraft).

The new AVOD is excellent. Most spectacularly - the audio quality is actually very good and in real stereo!!! :)

Flightpath is available as a channel on all domestic flights. You can select from a range of TV shows, albums and the usual QF radio channels. All AVOD controls are touch-screen.

The rest of the interior is good - more headroom and much more room in the overhead lockers. The lighting is fine.

And the other interesting thing - party pies are back in the SYD domestic J Lounge!! (Though they are a bit larger than the previous version).

I think there is a bit of confusion. My understanding is the new 737-800 Kalgoorlie (VH-VZT) does have the leather J seats, Boeing Sky Interior, better overhead bins, better head room and AVOD. I think the facebook photos show plane when it was first delivered and then the seats were since recovered with leather.

While there are some of the new-old 737-800s that just have the better overhead bins, betterhead room and AVOD. They still have the fabric J seats and no BSI. I think Qantas have two of these and Jetconnect has 8 (?).

And of course the old 737-800s that have none of those features.

Woohoo! Best decision made all year. Hope that change makes its way west and into the QP also.

So these aircraft have Y+ cloth international seats in grey as domestic J seats

vs

the old/current domestic millennium J seats

vs

the very newly delivered Y+ international seats in leather.

From Qantas Facebook page:

"Hey everyone, just letting you know we deleted one of the pictures that showed the business class section of the plane - this has actually now been fitted out with leather seat covers (even better), so we'll post new photos when we get them later this week..."
