New A321

Currently taxiing to the gate after flying in F on the A321 JFK-LAX.

Wow, how American has changed. I fly mostly long haul F and can be a very hard marker; in fact, I stopped flying AA and switched to Virgin America because their old F was dreadful.

For a Domestic First product, it really is at least as good as CX Business, not just the seat (they're the same) but the service was excellent, food and (to my surprise) coffee both really good.

Check in flawless, lounge staff super friendly. Nothing two hard.

Big tick for the new American.

Can I please ask how much you paid ?
From what I can see to fly on the 321 (or 32B) it's going to cost either US$2k, or 90k AA miles, which is ridiculous especially in the latter case as you can fly MEL-DXB-LHR on QF F for less miles than that lol.

I used QF points. Tbh I can't remember exactly how many as it was part of a much bigger itinerary, possibly 60K one way. It's not cheap, but it's also a long flight in F on a partner airline...

For what it's worth, I also had the option of flying in J on QF108 as it was a QF award itinerary, and I'd take this particular AA F product over QF J any day... But I particularly like the 1-1 layout and privacy.

Did you get to check out the A321s J product ? Apparently also very good. I knew you flew F but perhaps you walked past J etc.
And thanks, you just gave me an excellent idea, I wanted to fly HKG-JFK in CX F and was keen on trying AA 321 F but couldn't justify the cost but what I'm thinking of doing now is flying HKG-LAX in CX F instead and then the LAX-JFK portion with AA 321 essentially for "free" With 3x daily HKG-LAX flights and 13x daily A321 flights I should be able to make it work if I'm flexible enough which I am.

See post 12 to 17 of this thread for indication how it was possible for around $500.

I had my first flight on the 32B (A321T) yesterday...sadly in Y, but I highly recommend row 11. Now that's legroom!

Junior just boarded A321T in JFK to LAX. Booked in J but upgraded to F at gate!
