I'm keen to redeem some points for a SIN-BNE flight on J next August. Has there been any indication that the new A330 business class might be operational on this route by then? I read that the new product should be flying on SYD-SIN at the end of this year, but nothing about BNE. Or is it just a 'book and hope' thing being so far away?

Basically all the rollout details are a closely guarded secret (if they have even planned that far)

Do you why that might be ?
Other airlines seem very keen to promote when and which routes will have new aircraft etc like QR with their 388 and EY with their 388 and 789 for example yet with QF it's a closely guarded secret ?

I have quite a few J A330 bookings in the coming months. Given that they preannounced this a year ago, I'll just assume it won't happen until I see it.

QR and the A380! Ha, just wait whilst I pick myself off the floor laughing.

Ok now I am back let me say that maybe this is the perfect example of why Qantas are not making any promises yet.

Now your right Qatar has been promoting the A380 for several months now, promising flights to Paris and London months ago, think those that booked those flights for the A380 are still waiting and not happy campers. Though I believe Qatar have finally accepted their first A380 so maybe soon, but knowing Qatar maybe not on the routes first promised.

Our last M(J)ASA (SYD-SIN-BNE) is Jun 15 .... will be watching the seat map with interest!

Maybe QR was a bad example. But OZ was not shy to explain which routes would be first to fly the 388. And on the LH website you can search your flight number and date and it will tell you if you'll be experiencing the new J/F etc.

Actually QR is the perfect example. Don't promise something you cannot guarantee you can deliver. Better to under promise and over deliver than over promise and under deliver.

Besides base on past experience Qantas isn't too shy in promoting new product either and on what routes. Though they do it after they have enough in the fleet to make it meaningful.

The economy cabin could do with a makeover. Can't see that happening anytime too soon though.

Shame the 747s are going and the A380s operate on limited routes.

But the Intl-330's are receiving a total make over in both Y and J.

Are they? I would be interested in seeing the differences if QF are going to persevere with A330's everywhere.

Streamlined seats in economy for more comfort. This will be interesting.
