They make the whole J cabin available. I flew to Perth on XFD and I am flying back to Sydney today on XFD the service has been outstanding and Lanson back on the menu. 1A is my preference

And next week she is operating the first PER-BNE service.

Haha oh no! Someone beat me to 1A! (ah well) :)

I'm assuming 1K is as good, in terms of legroom/experience?

At the moment (14 days out) showing the new layout, fingers crossed it stays that way!

I prefer row 2+ as you get more storage bins and more legroom due to the cut out underneath row 1. Also the TV screens seem a bit better/closer/more private compared to row 1.

How much legroom do you need? I'm 195cm and don't have any issues with the legroom in row 1?

In relation to 1A, I haven't sat there because it looks to me that the side of the aircraft angles in a little - for those that have sat in it is this an issue or is this just poor perspective on my part?

all of the A330 seat maps show the new layout until the aircraft rego is assigned to that flight about 4 days out. so you can only use the seat map as a guide within four days. A lot of people complain that the aircraft has changed from a new one to one of the older A330's, most of the time thats not the case and its just the way the aircraft get assigned.

No issue at all, in fact i dont even recall it angles in

The side definitely angles in, you can see this by looking at the edge of the floor wall next to 2A or 2K, the angle is quite noticeable.

Not sure if they have offset the seats to account but I suspect not.

That is quite noticeable though, the TV is off center and there is no way for another seat to be placed directly in front of you as the side angles in.

Not saying it's a huge issue, but it definitely angles in so if someone really values an extra 1-2 inches of space around their feet then row 2+ would be better.

I sat in 1A for a MEL-PER flight on the new A330 and would not hesitate to choose it again. In fact I am doing this flight next weekend and apart from myself, there is only 1 other booked in J and they have gotten in first and chose this seat.

Am hoping for a new 330 tonight or Sunday but looks like they are both the old planes (yet again)....
