When were they going to start doing works, can't remember now.
I know we did discuss it quite a lot a few weeks ago/months ago.
Did try to look for the info.
Was it to start past Jul this year, and hopefully done by Dec, or have I played my cards wrong, and the works will continue into 2024?
Just booked QFd ADL - MEL J for a bit before Christmas.

Mrscove and sister were both in Adelaide last week and struggled to get seats in the Adelaide QF lounge as it was packed to the rafters. I have never had that in my last four visits in four months.

Ta.
Mine is an 8.30am Fri dep.
So will he very tight squeeze, school hols plus last work day before Christmas.
Reading on ET, the snippet didnt give exact dates re the reno/refresh/split of combo QP and J lounge to separate lounges will be complete/d.
Maybe I will just get some of their biscuits from the round dispensers and a coffee, and save space for on plane breakfast.

A simple search would reveal that QF has not actually given a date other than work is set to begin "in the second half of 2023"

Further, the QF site itself says "Plus new lounges in Adelaide (Domestic Business) and Port Hedland are coming in 2024."

So, there will be no ADL J lounge in December. Further, due to the works it's likely access to the existing space may be limited.

and this isn't the announcement either but does touch on an arrival VIP (shower) lounge

I recall that it's supposed to open later this year, but I don't think construction has started yet.

According to below link “late 2023” for updated Club and “in 2024” for new Business lounge.

Nothing yet showing on the Register

I do note Plaza Premium lounge was registered on 11/8/22 and opened for business 6 months later

So that would give some projected timeframe

I'm sure going to miss that Adelaide Qantas Club - it was large, spacious, had meeting rooms and good catering. It will be interesting to see what (if anything) changes here but given the recent "enhancements" from Qantas, I remain skeptical.

Good catering? You must've been very lucky when you visited because I never saw anything more than DIY nachos or Neils butter chicken on every. single. visit.

I will admit it was spacious and there was never really a bar or coffee line unlike syd/mel.
Would love to know when the renos start as I think I'll start flying exclusively VA to ADL in that time.

Upgrade and refurbishment of the existing Qantas Club and Chairmans Lounges, and to introduce anew Business Class Lounge within the existing overall Qantas lounge precinct footprint.

they've done a fair bit of work for QF
The last time I was in the QP here it coincided with AirNZ flight and it was packed. Was hoping for more space if the Business lounge is in the same footprint but maybe that will be much quieter.

For ADL airport:
As so far, they are retarring the main runway and plane taxiways.
No gutting or major inner works so far.

Any word on when the works commence? I have a morning MH flight out of ADL at the end of May and hoping by some miracle I can use something better than the QC.
