I am just booking some tickets to Universal Studios / Harry Potter World in Orlando. I have the option to purchase with an HSBC Visa which gives 2 QFF points / $ - in total, tickets are US$820. If I pay with my AMEX I will get zero points but access to the new AMEX lounge

Would you give up ~1700 points for lounge access?

Anything special about the lounge?? from the photos it doesn't look like much..

"Take a relaxing break during your afternoon and enjoy complimentary light snacks, drinks, a full-time concierge and more.

The American Express Lounge is open seven days a week from 12 pm – 5 pm and available on a first come, first served basis."

Agree that doesn't look like much there... I am looking at the tickets with a meal deal - all day dining at selected restaurants for $21 / $10 (kids) plus taxes. In this case, we probably won't have much use for the lounge. It is also a long way from the Harry Potter side of the park, so mightn't be much use to us.

Not much there. Free water bottles was nice, there were chips and something similar to museli bars. Seats were ok.

There is a concierge type service if you want. Staff friendly.

Seems like if they’d actually offered something substantial, like canapés and real drinks, then it might have been worthwhile, but I agree, the photos look awful. ~1700 points is worth more than a few bottles of water, surely, unless it’s Fiji water ;) :p

I agree with Sam and will take the points with Visa.
