New Amex statement credits

I am unaware if it is targeted or not but I received the following offer on my Edge and Reserve, but not on my Charge -

American Express Travel - Spend 250 get 75 back

This offer is on hotels, car hire and experiences but not on flights. Generally, hotels can be more expensive on Amex Travel but I have been able to get some real bargains in the past...

I had this pop up on some of my cards (Reserve and Edge) but not my Charge.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but with the HN credits, the exclude certain brands. How exactly does Amex know what has been purchased to deny the credit? Any experience, specifically AEG or Miele.

They dont know. But if you're worried buy gift cards first.

Daver6 I purchased a Miele vacuum from HN earlier this month and the Amex credit appeared in my transaction list within a few days.

Thanks. Washing machine packed up today, so will grab a replacement from HN in the next couple of days. Stupidly only saved the offer to two of my cards initially as figured I had no use for it. Oh well, $100 back is better than nothing :)

Unusual new offer - 100% rebate up to $10 back.

Save offer to Card, pay your fare using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay to tap on an Opal reader when you travel on Sydney Ferries F1-F8 or Sydney Light Rail L1 to get the first $10 of your fares back. Limited to 30,000 Cards. Exclusions apply.

Went to buy some HN gift cards today (didn’t work online), first shop didn’t agree to sell and showed me letter from AMEX asking them not to sell ANY gift cards up until 1st July. Tried another HN in the area and they were happy to sell as many as I wanted. As usual HN being consistently inconsistent.

Harvey Norman stores are franchises. Each manager will have their own ideas....

What sort of GCs did/could you buy, boomy? I have bought Luxury Escapes GCs before but HN or visa cards are generally not available.

Just wanted some HN GCs to help a friend who’s making big prchase. They get nice discount, I get points, HN get the business, win win win.
Usually I order online but this time it didn’t work, payments using AMEX didn’t go through for some reason.

Weird. No issue here buying the luxury escape gift card online.
