New Amex statement credits

A few days ago MrsDaver6 received an email telling her that her supp card holder (me) on her QF Ultimate card has an offer for spend $100 get $20 back. Sure enough I logged in and found this.

Possibly targetted?
Okay this is why I have the offer:

As a Qantas American Express Ultimate Card Member, you are eligible for a $450 Travel Credit which can be used for Qantas flights. With the continued uncertainty about travel this year we've already extended the expiry of the Qantas Travel Credit to 31st March 20211. However we know for many of you, the time still isn't right to travel.

Given this, we've changed how you can use the Qantas Travel Credit that was extended to 31st March 2021.

In place of the $450 Qantas Travel Credit you'll now have a credit worth up to $450 to spend on Qantas flights booked directly through Qantas, or at Qantas Hotels, Qantas Wine or at the Qantas Rewards Store by 31st of March, 2021.

This would be a huge improvement IMHO if it becomes the norm of the QF Ultimate travel credit. Firstly, can book directly with QF avoiding Amex Travel. This is advantageous as it avoid the Amex Travel change fees. Secondly, being able to spend it on wine and hotels makes it more flexible. I hope this becomes the new standard offering.

Wonder if buying a voucher would trigger the cash back

I got this across my primary Edge and my wife's primary Reserve (but not the main Plat).

I think I checked them out previously and they were useless since they only accepted Amex if the biller did. So, like, what's the point? But the wording of the website now suggests you can use Amex and they'll BPay. I will pay 1.5% to do that if I can earn full points (this might be the best ATO option now), especially now that the Dragon has stopped paying on government.

Will test later on a small amount and advise.

I also got an offer on a couple of primary cards for 3x bonus points in-person at a bunch of locations until the end of Jan. It looks like small businesses in holiday regions outside the capitals. I can hopefully hit some of the places in the Mornington Peninsula.

Same, all regional,
Was hoping to see something metro but no luck

What's even more annoying is I spent 10 days in the WA south west region. Just got back Sunday. Oh well, thems the breaks.
