New Condor livery - definitely not bland!

I haven't seen this posted elsewhere on here. Condor has just released renderings of its new livery and it is certainly adventurous/different/unusual/ weird/eye burning according to your taste. The one thing it definitely isn't is bland. The striped look is supposedly based on beach towels and thus symbolising holidays. No Euro white for these planes.

So many airline liveries look the same these days (corporate-looking white with a coloured tail). I think this looks great! Will also get people's attention at airports.

Some Germans are "known" by other Europeans, for putting pool towels over prime positioned poolside resort deck chairs first thing in the morning - then not coming back until much later in the day to claim their prize!

So from a European perspective, it's Germans having a bit of a tongue in cheek poke at themselves, and from a German perspective, it is spot on branding/positioning for what the airline offers to them. And for anyone who doesn't know - the livery stands out, and makes them want to know more. IMO all very clever!

Nope - the news release is dated 4th April. To quote - "Condor is vacation. And vacation is stripes. Germany's most popular leisure airline is unveiling its new brand identity today: In the future, Condor will wear stripes in five colors. Inspired by parasols, bath towels and beach chairs, Condor is evolving into a distinctive and unique vacation airline." They are also making changes to crew uniform accessories, cups, blankets etc etc. This new livery has achieved more recognition for Condor than a 1,000 TV ads.

I like it.

But then I do have a light purple and white striped bath mat and blue/white stripe bath towel on the go right now so maybe I’m the target audience.

Certainly better than the boring LH livery update of a few years ago…
