re: New ESTA Questions - "Moral Turpitude" gone -"Serious" Crimes, not just "any"

I don't know what the new questions are, but the only one I found different was the last one about being in contact with anything overseas, or something similar. Otherwise the words STUFF UP are a good summary of our experience.

Thanks for getting back to us, FlyboyAl. It looks like you were exempt from providing the new additional information and that maybe it just applies to new ESTAs?

The extra information on the ESTA now includes:

- Parents information
- Employment information
- Citizen of any other country
- alias/other name

Can't remember if there are more.

I didn't get any of that stuff on my renewal.
If they do not have the correct info, then why the hell do we have to waste time at the kiosk?
Future trips I'll just go straight to the staff doing the passport stamps.

How close to your travel do you do your ESTA?

I try and finesse it but get nervous if I leave it too late. I think mine expires this month but I'm not due to travel there again until April 15.
I did mine last week for January travel.

I do note the questions are now less intrusive in relation to prior arrests - "Moral Turpitude" is gone and replaces with "Serious" "Property damage"/"Harm". I suspect there are quite a few who would not have been able to rightly answer no to all the previous question who now are able to do so.

That should make for less Visa Processing going forward.

(Of course, how does on define "Serious"?)

For reference here are the new questions with the previous I94W below:

    Chancroid
    Gonorrhea
    Granuloma Inguinale

I'm not entirely sure it is gone - if you reference https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/WebHelp/ESTA_Screen-Level_Online_Help_1.htm#help it says:
Question said:
Have you ever been arrested or convicted for a crime that resulted in serious damage to property, or serious harm to another person or government authority?AND
Have you ever violated any law related to possessing, using, or distributing illegal drugs?
Answer said:
This question refers to crimes involving moral turpitude - Such offenses generally involve conduct which is inherently base, vile, or depraved and contrary to the accepted rules of morality and the duties owed to persons or society in general. There are factors, such as the age of the offender or the date of the offense that may affect whether an offense will be considered a crime involving moral turpitude for purposes of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
For further information refer to § 212(a)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(2), § 101(a)(43) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1101(a)(43) and corresponding regulations in the Code of Federal Regulations.
