Just got an email about the new Jetstar app (Jetstar Trips) and that it's going to replace the current one in a few months. Here's hoping the new one works better! I've always had trouble checking in successfully and having access to the mobile boarding pass.

The new one is half baked, missing heaps of features. Just sends you to online manage your booking to do seats/changes, and no boarding pass function.

Good lord...and this is replacing the current one?? Urgh...

Shortly after the app was released I was asked for and gave some feedback - it doesn't recognise "OOL" as an airport; only GOL(D COAST). Very frustrating as every other airline app recognises the IATA airport codes and automatically using them is a hard habit to break

All apps used by Australian airlines are cough.

The best I have used is Delta. Spits out crazy long winded itineraries in seconds. The platform they use is very smooth, all details are easily available like fare buckets and so on. Those same complex trips you need to phone up and be treated like an inconvenience down under if I tried to book one, with Virgin which is always a nightmare.

I will be interested to see what Bonza releases, considering the App is the only way you can book their flights, better be half decent.

I agree. I'd say United is even better than Delta.

I was on a partner ticket X economy award fare. Not only could I do all covid docs/check in but it even allowed seat selection from seconds of booking, upgrades to other cabins (cheaper cash fares on day of travel), baggage tracking and most impressive was on the return flight to Australia it offered same day free of change routing (I didn't take it as the SFO-SYD I was booked on was better than the SFO-LAX-SYD option it provided but still nice to have the option).

Looks like there has been another update to the app in the last week or so?

They seem to be throwing you to a browser for much of it.

Delta is probably the best example of what an app should be. Sensational booking platform inside the app, that can bring up some very complex routes almost instantly.

Virgin probably the worst.

Agree entirely with all of that

Indeed, whats the point of an app that refers back to the web page.

The US carriers in general have really good apps.
