New JQ Business Class

....just hope they are not like the former Star Class seats, when person has seat back can't get out to aisle.

Yes. We took off late and the people infront of me reclined and left it that way the whole flight. I was literally head butting the seat infront of me while trying to eat dinner. Sounds funny now and l laugh about it, but l wasn't happy at the time. On top of that, I got a window seat and the person next to me wasn't the slimmest. After a few beers, l had to go to the toilet. Oh the hassle.....Not to mention they were building the titanic up front in the galley. What a circus that flight was. I'm putting it down to 'a life experience'.

Yes, but if you are relying on the Status Credits earned by flying StarClass to maintain that Gold status, you won't be Gold for too much longer as without the Business Max bundle, you don't earn the Status Credits.

But bundle worth $200 return (Melb/BKK) = $400 extra.... it will take at least six flights to remain GOLD = $2400. Cost of return flight Melb/BKK Star class = approx $1800, Q Club annual fee $300 Total...save $200 ....Not sure of the economics work out. I think we are being screwed

Just bought the lowest cost, no baggage, Standard JQ29/30 (Mel/Bkk/Mel) fare I could. Only added exit row seats. Will enjoy the Massage, bottle of French Champs and the Salt and Pepper Squid lunch in the F Lounge on QFs dollar. Oh not to forget the exceptional cheese platter and another bottle of Champs while waiting for JQ29 to be called. Will not need any food or booze on the flight as I'll make sure my belly is full of both when I leave the F Lounge. Will do the same thing in the QF/BA F Lounge in Bkk on the way back.

I can play their game.

Who needs those 38 inch pitch JQ "Business" seats? As mentioned before when the seat in front reclines and you are in the middle or window seat and want to get out, well it's almost impossible or if you sit on the isle seat the Pax in the middle or window seat wants to get out and climbs over you. Give me a international long haul exit row seat any day.

Hey JQ heads up. I can buy a MH real J seat with a 56 inch pitch for what a JQ Business (??) seat will now cost me for Adl/Mel/Adl. ~$2,300. Even less if I buy the seat as MH -Y and use OptionTown to upgrade it to J for less than the -Y to J difference. If I miss the -Y to J upgrade, I still sit in a Best Economy in the Sky seat with a 34 inch seat pitch. Try that on JQ. 4 of those on Business and I'm MH Gold. In my opinion, someone in JQ/QF just shot themselves in the foot with the Business Max ripoff.

Will enjoy earning my 1,200 SCs this year as I fly around the US and pay AA for YUUP (F). So easy to get 1,200 SCs when flying AA F and then to get AA EXP. Will sure enjoy the 8 system wide J upgrades and the unlimited F domestic US upgrades.

Wonder of QF will ever wake up? I sure did and have all the JQ/QF "Enhancements" to thank for that.

+1
Definitely agree with MH providing the best Y seat in the sky. And so easy to get to gold on their FFP too. 2 return business class trips to Europe and viola! Lots of great perks when you're MH gold.

I fail to see how these recent enhancements are "more benefits"..
Unless I have missed something..

We now have the option of earning QFF points and SCs on cheap J* Y fares, at an extra cost. Each individual will decide if the extra $25 is worth it. My friend flys SYD-OOL so this will be very beneficial.

Prior to this, QP, SG, WP Int. lounge access was extended to J*Asia, previously only JQi.

So while I respect individual comments along the lines of, personally I am worse off (I'm in this category) I disagree with blanket statements that imply we are all worse off with the latest changes.

It's unbalanced in a similar way as posts telling others to 'never fly with xx airline' after one experience.
