New Look QF FF Cards

As noted by me earlier in this thread, there's a lot of packs in the last few weeks being sent out with old cards. I suspect their production facility either isn't yet geared up for the new cards, or they are awaiting stocks of all new materials to arrive (bag tags, new marketing materials, brochures, etc) before starting to distribute NGCI cards.

My welcome letter from QFF - enclosing my Bronze card - was dated 30 October 2009. Since then, I've received Silver, Gold and then Gold NGCI cards. If my Platinum card arrives this week (I qualified on 10 October), will it be NGCI-capable? Time will tell! Meanwhile, is five cards in one year some sort of record? If so, do I win a prize?

l'm on 4 for my "year" now too.

1 GOLD
2 WP's (1 with Q). Honestly, you would have thought that QF would roll out New designs at the same time at the new intelli-Q chipped cards?

1 more new designed WP card still to come.

Can always ring and ask for a replacement card I did this a few weeks back and they waived the fee... no Q chip card here yet unfortunately.

Come back and talk when you also get a QP and a CL for that collection also valid same year. That would be worthy of a record and subsequent medal.

Just to answer a question a few pages back regarding CL, my father was the head of Customs for NSW and while he was not a CL he did get access when required for entertaining foreign guests etc after a phone call to the Qantas general manager.

He said that there is a CL at the Sydney international terminal, near the first lounge apparently. Most terminals where Qantas is based has a CL. Furthermore, there isn't that much of a difference between the CL and First lounge, mainly better food and drinks (JW Blue label for example). It's also a very quiet place since there's not that many people to be found inside at any one time..

I guess CL pax just enjoy the ultimate wanker factor with little substance.

Considering they want a picture of your FF card for the status match to verify that *you* have the status (hence taking a picture with your FF number and name on it), a copy without any details will not get you a status match (and as someone said, it's cheating; match the status you have!)

There are also photos in a thread on here from a few weeks ago showing a glimpse of the CBR CL, with basically the same furniture as the two F lounges.

It'd also be a little harder these days thanks to the 'shiny' silver they use for the names being more holographic and what not.

But yes, not something anyone should be assisting with, here or elsewhere IMO too

I probably should have mentioned this was about eight years ago prior to his retirement, QF must've decided to cut back since then.

I figure there might have been, as you said, a CL in the international terminal before the F lounge was renovated, just by looking at the layout of things now.
