New Luggage - Delsey or Antler? Suitcase Covers?

Just for the record, as I recently discovered when trying to replace an Antler suitcase, Antler went broke during Covid. They have been bought out by an Australian company (the parent company of Strandbags I believe). They are still in operation (and based) in the UK, but as of when I was there in September no longer have a retail presence in the UK, only sold via web.

Still widely available in Australia, especially at Strandbags. Just caution the "worldwide warranty" - in the end I had to bring back a broken cabin bag inside my suitcase to replace here, as nothing could be organised in time in the UK.

Such a shame as they are great quality.
Interesting. I didn’t know they had gone bankrupt. I broke the handle of my antler suitcase in Europe and when I got back to London I messaged them asking about repair shops and got this BS response that they closed all the repair places during Covid but here’s some great new ones to buy and I’ll put you on our mailing list. I had to buy another case too. Not sure whether to bring it home or now

Exactly what happened to me. I also was planning to buy a second checked suitcase whilst there - thought I could just drop into M&S and grab it, but it was an ordeal that required me to express ship it to a future hotel in London on the last night I was in the UK before travelling on to the US.

Actually come to think of it, this was the second Antler cabin bag with a broken handle. Perhaps its not as good quality as I thought.

Mine got caught in the car door and had been repaired once. When one side completely broke I went to hotel reception and asked the guy to break the other side off. He thought it was hilarious. Me not so much

I picked up a July bag for Xmas and it appears to be very well thought out, with high build quality. These are supposedly designed in Australia.

MrsK and I picked up July Carry On cases in early 2020 as our old bags had seen better days. I have the Carry On Plus, while MrsK has the stylised Carry On, in hot pink and personalised. We've both been very happy with the quality, toughness and practicality of the cases, especially the battery banks for recharging on the go.

I'm thinking of retiring my very old two wheeler suitcase for a July trunk. Although we need to book a trip long enough to need a suitcase that big

@kookaburra75 Is the July bag similar (or a copy) of the Away bag? I have read some decent reviews of Away but I do not think it can be sourced in Oz and the July line up look to be eerily similar?

Does anyone have a Karl Friedrik?

I don't know, I hadn't heard of the brand Away before. Looking on their website, the carry on bags do look very similar.

I went with the JulyCarry On Pro, for the snap-off sleeve, to replace a 15+ year old Antler carry-on. I got mine first, and then once MrsK saw mine, she ordered a Carry On for herself. With the chaos of travel over the past 12 months, we've been travelling with hand luggage only, and both bags have performed very well. I hadn't been a fan of the 4 wheel/spinner type cases in the past, but I've had no issues with the July case.
