Welcome to the forum MELoffairpark, as someone who parks off-airport in Melbourne more than 20 times a year I look forward to your continued input.

I also prefer the self-parking option, although in my case it is not so much security as not wanting to have to adjust the seat, steering wheel and mirrors back. For some reason, I can never get it back to my chosen position, which I think is more an issue with me. I do otherwise prefer the better enclosed valet parking as whilst my car is protected from the sun in the self-park option, it seems to have a dust bath each time it is left there for a week.

Thank you Bofter, and yes hope to be able to give an insider's view when requested. Re the seat, steering wheel, mirrors issue, it is a tough one. While we make every attempt not to change the positions of anything in a customer's car, its sometimes impossible. I can recall times when I've gotten into cars and not been able to swing my knees under the steering wheel the seat has been so far forward. With employees of different heights its sometimes necessary to alter the positions of at least seat and mirrors to park the car safely, so a point we cannot get around. In the case of the dust bath, Tullamarine is a very open and windy area, and with wind invariably comes dust, which even sometimes gets into our indoor warehouses and should we find indoor cars with a film of dust on them we do a complimentary wash just prior to the owner's return.
