Hi All
New member here, just joined prior to a huge European Trip in July. Fly QF Melb to LHR return and hope to do some driving in UK and train travel through Europe to Belgrade. Any tips would be useful.
I have booked Economy Flex and paid for exit row seats, applying for upgrade to Business, but told unlikely to happen.

Welcome to AFF family @Angela Todorovic

I am not really sure getting QC membership will help in getting the upgrade , assuming that was your query.

No, I wondered if I purchased the club (just for me) then invite my Husband into the lounge whilst we are in transit QF1 & QF2 for two hours. we can freshen up etc. as we have no interest in wondering through the airports

Another welcome to AFF, @Angela Todorovic !

As to your QC question - if you're coming back from LHR, the flight to SIN is almost as long!
I see that you're thinking of the Qantas lounge access along the way. That really depends on what value you place on various features that are important to you.
On a return trip, you'd be looking at up to 4 lounge visits. (SYD, SIN then LHR, SIN)

The asking price of QC is quite steep if this were your only purpose for it in the 12 months of membership. There is the new-ish flexible membership - you'd both need to join (x 2 joining fee) as that level doesn't allow guests, whereas regular QC allows the one.

Perhaps one of the pay-per-visit lounges might be a better fit? I believe the is a Plaza Premium in T1.

Thanks, any experience with Priority Pass?

Hello and welcome! :)

Does seem a bit steep to purchase a qclub if your only use is limited to those 2 hour windows in Singapore.

Have you considered guest passes that come with some credit cards? Most come with 2 passes annually, there are the Qantas branded ones or some that provide access to others via programs like Priority Pass or LoungeKey. Or you can also get 2 Qantas ones if you can hit Points Club.

Thanks, any experience with Priority Pass?

Yes, there are multiple lounges available at each terminal in Changi, 3 in Qantas T1 and even one outside at Jewel. Check the website for features/details...

Another very warm welcome aboard AFF @Angela Todorovic :)

Whilst it's unlikely you'll be successful with your upgrade requests, there is always the odd occasion where we see surprise outcomes for Bronze FFlyers and the fact that you've paid Flex Economy at least puts you a little higher up the pecking order for an upgrade. If you haven't already done so, it might be worth ticking that box to auto-request/accept a Premium Economy (Y+) upgrade should it become available and your Business (J) upgrade request is rejected. For that length of trip, I'd be much happier in Y+ than Economy (Y, or "whY").

As for the question re: Qantas Club? I tend to agree with others. If your main focus is to use it purely for this trip and you can't realistically get more value out of it on other/future travel, then I would say it's not worth it. The other pay-per-use lounges in SIN are likely a better option. Additionally, I'd recommend posting in the relevant thread here for your travel dates as you may get lucky with a fellow AFF member travelling on those dates and (potentially) being able to guest you and your hubby into one of the Qantas Lounges in MEL/SIN/LHR.
