New Offer 30k Points or 200 status credits with CC Sign-Up

Just rang Velocity - advised that I was still within the 12 week period....

UGH!

My 30k points credited today, chased via the Gold email, they started talking about the wrong card, then told me I had to wait 12 weeks, I pointed out 12 weeks had passed already - a week later points appear

Anyone have any indication if this offer might come back for 2025?
I was wondering the same thing.

My guess would be not, given the recent 'devaluation' of the system?

They do have 100 points to give away on the Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer Card, however:

100 Bonus Status Credits each year when you book an eligible Virgin Australia flight. (5)

Plus the 100 SCs on Velocity Amex platinum.
Plus giving away virgin lounge membership with the above Amex.

So devaluation yet throw out SCs and lounge access left right n centre.

Last year the offer came out on February 12. I haven’t kept an exact record of the date of the 2023 offer but from memory it was the first half of February also. So if the same offer were to be repeated this year, one would think that it would be imminent. On the other hand it’s also reasonable to think that it would have happened by now.

Are the bonus points coming from Velocity or the card provider? For example if I open an Amex but already have one obviously won't get the Amex bonus but if this comes from Velocity would get the "extra bonus" points?

Not sure who'd open a new card with just 30k bonus points.

Hypothetical your asking I assume.

Yep no intention of opening a new card just curious and trying to understand the promo.

QF has had similar in the past with a 20k bonus and that bonus comes from QF meaning just 1 point from the card needs to post to get the bonus.
