New 'phone for a traveller.. Recommendations

Nokia 6310i for me - I even have a spare handset in a drawer for when the current one dies.

I'm not into convergent devices - I'll see your Swiss Army Knife and raise you a Katana any day. Jack of all trades = master of none.

The 6310i (plenty available on ebay) is great for roaming - except to Japan - has a quantam battery that defies the normal limitations of space-time by lasting forever, exceptional range, and interfaces perfectly with my car's built-in kit & software.

It has bluetooth too, so will interface perfectly with the left hemisphere of my brain (aka the iPaq).

Well I've got two phones in use. My Nokia 6230 (and 6230i is better) and my new PDA phone the ETEN M600.

For those who just want a phone then the Nokia 6230 series are fantastic.

For those who like phones like the iMate Jas Jar, Atom and Mini should look at the ETEN M600. It is not as well marketed as the iMate series but is a fantastic device and should be looked at as an alternative for the Atom.

Regards
Daniel
