Ta.in a cab,, shouldn't cost more than $25 and if it's hot, tell the driver to turn the aircon on.
I thought the IC was further away than that.

On my last two visits I have emailed the hotel concierge prior to arrival and organized either a car pickup or seat in the hotel mini van. I've forgotten the cost but they let you know in their response. Others I know have simply taken a local cab from the airport without any hassle which is also much cheaper. The drive is about 40 mins along the highway. Cheers.

So true... As an aside, last time we went we took an extra bag full of school stuff such as writing books, pens, pencils etc as well as a few footys and the like for the kids in the village next door. The hotel will arrange for them to be collected if you send an email before you go. If you've got a bit of spare space in your bag, I can guarantee they are very much appreciated.Time and distance have different definitions in Fiji - Bula

So true, worked on a project for a year in Fiji, time pressure was felt unequally on us ex-pats I think, the locals were much more relaxed than us about delivering on scheule. Must admit at the time relaxed wasn't the word I would probably have chosen but who's to say they weren't right.Time and distance have different definitions in Fiji - Bula
Would have to be +1 on any thing that gets you close to the locals, far too many people spend too much time in an isolated cocoon when travelling and there are many reasons why this is easy to do in Fiji but for me it's always those little expereinces where you get to meet loacls that really provide the memories. I'm lucky enough to have lived in Fiji and can absolutley say they are some of the loveliest people I've ever met, amazinglt friendly and yes the schools and kids will use whatever you provide.+1 to this - we had a great holiday (doing little but relaxing at the pool/beach) but the school visit was by far the highlight and we'd definately take some things for the school - they always need books, paper, footballs etc.
Can somebody answer two questions for me ... thanks:
Firstly, what is the last date of booking your PB stay ( for the current CP Sufers / IC Fiji offer ) ?? ( also, the stay must be completed by 31 July 2012 ... is this correct ?? )
Secondly, are you actually able to claim a 15% rebate from 'Mr. Rebates' ... even though you haven't actually paid for a Reward Stay ?? ( is this to say, that you claim a rebate on the 'usual' cost of the room you actually stayed - even though it was on points ?? )

if you cancel the booking at least 24 hours beforehand, do you forfeit the points?
Thanks for your response Markis.
I hope to rack up just enough additional points for a weekend stay at CP Surfers in July.
Just waiting to see what Sydney IC give me for short stay this week.

No they are fully refundable, however the room does not get returned to the pool of Pointsbreaks rooms so if many people do this the property goes off special quickly without many having stayed at the cheap rate.
Fiji has dropped off the list but is still bookable for a day or two via the normal reservations page then selecting rewards nights.
I checked various dates on IC Fiji a few days ago and they just made the dates not available for rewards.
