Just came home this week on the old A380 premium economy. Surprisingly comfortable. Fat old lady here and I was very comfortable . It was really a leap up from economy.
However that was on OQL which is yet to be refurbished. Wondering if the new premium economy seats are as comfortable ? Wide seat etc
This was on QF12

I’ve only traveled on the new Premium Economy seats so I can’t compare for you. I did however travel on VA 777 pe back when it existed, I believe they were the same seat. Which I do think the new QF PE seats are fantastic and fairly underrated. I think QF PE seats are very good and better than other airlines PE I’ve tried.

The QF new PE seats are good but the seat pitch is too dense to my liking. When the one in front declines, you've got precious little room for yourself (unless you recline, too). Add a couple of inches and it'd be a great product in its class.
Agreed. Very good seats (and fitted pillow!), but 38" is too tight. Come on, it's an A380, at least do 40".

I do believe the old seats were also 38" so it hasn't changed for the worse.

Assuming the new A380 seats are the same as the 787 Y+ seats, they're pretty similar. Biggest gripe with the new ones is how close the tray table is to one's thighs.

And both suffer from only 38" pitch. Really not good enough.

I think QF agrees that 38" isnt enough hence the new A350 PE are set at 40".

Not sure if we'll see the 787s get refurbished (i doubt it any time soon).
