As you can see from the title, the new QF app is now working on iPhones, it's got some pretty cool features such as the lounge listings, your flights and some more stuff...

Mr!

I have always thought the standard QF app on the iPhone has been quite good. I will have to see what the changes are when I get a chance later tonight.

I think the new feature is that it allows you to check in on-line and issues a boarding pass to your phone. Not sure how long this has been available.

Either i'm going mad or iTunes is lying to me. I can't seem to see the Qantas App in the ITMS at all (and I deleted the old one as it was identical to the Safari optimised website for iPhone).

I just searched the iTunes store and couldn't see it either :S

The description sounds like the iPhone-optimised website to me... which is fine for most purposes...

Have a look at www.appstorehq.com

I originally d/loaded it from there when I first got my iPhone

It's not available

I think the optimised web for iPhone has been enhanced. Much better now and more functionality. I will actually use it now. Before was a pain in the butt!

Ahh so it's not a new app and it's not in the ITMS :)

I believe QF removed it because of the lashback they got from people saying 'it's a webapp why are you bothering?'. It'd be nice if they had a nice app or really optimised the web interface though.

As someone mentioned, they have however tweaked the web app for iphone slightly, allowing you to view a booking based on your QFF details not just PNR (but not checkin unless you use the full app).

The app I have on my iPod touch is called 'Qantas 2' and published to the app store by 'Qantas'. It hasn't been updated recently that I have seen. However, it is no longer listed in the app store.

The content of the app looks like http://www.qantas.com.au/mobile/ but some some UI tweaks.

Visiting the qantas.com website via Safari, it reports that JaveScript needs to be enabled. The /mobile site isn't coming up in Safari. Not too useful.

AFAIK, it's always been called "QANTAS 2".

So wait, can we use this new one to check-in, or not? It still annoys me that I can check-in using Qantas.com (regular site) on my iPhone, but not through the "Optimised for iPhone" version.

"Optimised", hahaha...

I do think they’ll relaunch the app at some point, but it’s definitely not available right now and hasn’t been for some time.

Have the app on my phone, seems to work ok except when I go to select a booking I just get a error message. :-|

So are the majority of people here, without seeing my iPhone, telling me that the app I have is not an updated version and that I am delusional?

No you have a non-legitimate version :)

Unless you got it and installed it directly from the iTunes Music Store, via iTunes, it's not guaranteed to be the real version :)

Give us some screen captures if you want (press the home button and within less than half a second press the sleep/wake button, which will save a screen shot to your camera roll, then sync it to your pc and upload). Then we can tell you what it is :)

I have the same app and no updates have come down through official channels. If you’ve jailbroken your phone and there’s a new unofficial app, perhaps that’s why you’re ahead.

My phone is NOT a jail broken phone - it's a Telstra 3Gs 32GB iPhone - stock standard from Telstra.

When I originally downloaded the app, it was a legit copy (grrr for even suggesting different), yesterday, it updated "for optimal experience". It now has additional features such as viewing my booking etc

There is no online check in as I said in a previous post.
