New Qantas London First Lounge + other lounge upgrades

Interesting, I didn't realise Qantas had fifth-freedom rights to carry Singapore-origin passengers to non-AU destinations? Is that a new development?

For as long as I can recall. Someone will have the specific agreement / date.

I believe Australian carriers have had such rights from Singapore since it was still a British colony, then part of Malaysia.

Well, I'm a bit out of touch on this one! Thanks folks for clarifying, somehow I never saw this discussed before.

It’s been in the 5th Freedom thread since 2018 - I thought that thread was much older!

Thanks mate! They are going to need to get moving ASAP if they want some of these lounges completed by Mid 2024 as communicated by Qantas!
The “cost of living crisis” is freeing up tradies - maybe waiting a few weeks or months will save $’000s…😁

I think it is, its just that for a few years prior to 2018 QF1 went via DBX instead of SIN before thankfully returning to SIN. So for that period there were no SIN-LHR flights.

At least 2003

QF1/2 used to go via BKK if I recall correctly - other flights went through SIN.
Correct. FRA was via SIN and the other on again/off again 737 routes to CDG, FCO(?). QF31/32 was via SIN also.

The LHR flights at the time where:

QF1/2 SYD-BKK-LHR
QF9/10 MEL-SIN-LHR
QF29/30 MEL-HKG-LHR
QF31/32 SYD-SIN-LHR

Has anyone eaten from the AKL herb garden?

Don’t you just cringe when they use the “E” word but it does look better.

Like many here, I have probably developed an "immunity" to the E word!
