Why did QF management think it needed improving when it worked perfectly well, then they improved it to this disaster.

Using the new web site is truly a royal pain in the backside. Agree with many other posts here.

There have been I'd say 4 times in the last 6 weeks I would have bought a ticket to somewhere but the site just took so long to load and then find a flight. But I guess that must be what the owners (shareholders) want from the QF management.

Then 'the business' need a serious reality check.
I cannot fathom how the current website encourages loyal, status holding QFF to continue to spend either $ or points with QF.
Seriously every time I open that website to do anything other than check existing bookings, I lose the will to live.
It's that bad :(

Still it's not as bad as the VA website/s ;)

They got sold a good story about mobile platforms.

or just got sold a BS story, I mostly use an ipad. The old site worked fine, the new one leaves me with spinning dots, that's if I can get passed the log in stage.

I recall RR commenting that changes were made due to customers increasing use of mobiles and tablets. Only problem is that accessing the website with those devices, provides the same painful time wasting experience as a desktop.

One thing that amuses me is now i often get a little pop up survey about my experience with using the QF web site about how they are trying to improve it.

But guess what, I didn't get that with the old site but then I didn't need it, because it worked fine and wasn't spraying around ads for suitcases I didn't want to buy.

eerrrgghh.

Then why could it not have beren like the old system with a link to the main website IF PEOPLE WANTED TO ACCESS IT ??
That worked just fine, come on Red roo give management the message before the 5 % of business they muast be losing equals more than qantas' bottom line and people simply book on other auirline websites
I reckon I could book a code shared flight on another One World airline easier than doing it on Qantas' website now and still get my points & SC.....and that is just CRAZY !!!!!!!!!!!
I want to support an Australian business

Tell the trusth in words of single syllables

Nah, wouldn't work. Qantasspeak = marketing spin, these days. It seems to be the only language they use/understand.

"Customer survey" = "take their minds off the carp underneath"

Nobody has mentioned the failings of the app yet so I'll start. Why do I have to log in to see my next bookings and points/sc summary. Why can't this info be displayed once you tap on the app? If at that time you need additional detail then you should be able to log in via that screen.

On the latest facelift of the webpage, is anyone else having trouble getting the "best offers' page to display? It ends up on the flight search option displayed.

Had that hit the browser back button and got the specials page.

Just went back to check Medhead's solution, and the QF site took over 60secs to load. this time I got the search page, so they are obviously beavering away in the background (somewhere on the planet).

Worth noting that while it is the IT part of the company that does the coding, and they certainly can get it wrong, they are usually coding according to requests and specifications from 'the business' who usually also control the budget for same.

I agree with your point here - however regardless of what the IT company have been directed to code, why on earth is there not end to end testing carried out? Ok, I work in an IT business process related field, but isn't it just common sense? Go onto the new website and try to use it as an actual user before you tell Qantas "hey, this is all done, that will be $500,000 please".
