I am betting it will be the same seat CX use on their international A330 and 77W fleet.

Me too, I really hope this is the choice they have made. This particular seat can be installed on narrow bodies as well, which adds an interesting element of flexibility.

It can be installed on a narrow body, but VA don't really have any routes that it would be viable to do so.
Though that flexibility is handy, like AA's new A321 for transcon services, it has the CX seat installed as First in a 1-1 config.
The CX J seat would be amazing if VA went with it for the 330 and 777 fleet and would throw them miles ahead of QF but I'm amazed they're really tight lipped on this. The latest 330 is arriving this month so hopefully we can all see what they've selected.
In this case I think it's a matter of under-promise over-deliver (something VA don't always do). Just look at the constant disappointment on the QF thread about when QF will actually install the new seat.
I hope they get it just right! Isngood how they mentioned the new bird will come with the new product so planning to see when her first revenue flight is so I can use one of the WP upgrades!
I'm not keeping my expectations high as we don't know what layout or seat design it is but I would think it would be a while before the entire 777 and 330 fleet get updated with the new seats. Crossing finers they start refurbing the 777 before January as I have a flight but I don't think that will happen.
As nice as it is, I just don't see VA installing this product because of the route. Maybe something more along the lines of AirNZ is what Im thinking.
I doubt it. Whilst I personally like the NZ seat, many don't and it is not the direction in which the industry is heading, pardon the pun!
It will be easier for VA to refurb their entire widebody fleet as it currently consists of only 12 aircraft.
