I'm also trying to work out if the check-in desks in the lounge in the first 10 seconds or so have luggage facilities or not (or whether this entire lounge is a figment of the advertising agencies imagination)..
The check-in desks look more like a bar, which has been "dressed-up" to look like a check-in desk/area, with the overhead departure monitors displaying "check-in" (rather than "flight status / departures" as they would when in "lounge bar" mode).

Not a Virgin fan I take it?

I'm ambivalent about Virgin (yes, even fly them), but the Virgin PR machine surely doesn't need to start a new thread every time Virgin does something. Perhaps it's a diversion from the years financial results....

Gone are the replies of Crazydave and it would seem the advertorial is in.

Just my view from from the back row.

AFF members had been wondering what the old Sydney Ansett Lounge looked like, so we did some videoing to show them! :)

Yes haha, I think many would remember. Including myself as kid on business trips with my father. (bring back the wood grain paneling on the aircraft with gold rimmed clocks in 1st class)

Fair enough - but I can't say I'm a fan of the flipside situation where a QF press release is crammed into a single thread, with all other threads closed down (not even merged), and it goes on for hundreds of pages with nary an ability to get a word or question in sideways in response before it gets swamped away.

I agree, but I think we don't need suppliers posting their wares as threads (some not all) that get started on this forum, people here are savvy enough and pick it up with hours (if not minutes :p) of things coming out. They read and digest and if thought it might be useful it gets posted here.

Many Virgin threads are the complete opposite of the one or two huge QANTAS threads. Just like I don't want to read a single 80 page thread I also don't want to look at 80 separate threads.

I think it's good each of the two majors are here, as it is a forum driven by FF I would also prefer some restraint in advertising. Perhaps each of the two airlines could kick the bucket and cover the costs of the site thus negating the need for any other ads if they want to advertise. Just an idea.

With every single web page changed, and there being in excess of 28 points in our new terms and conditions, I certainly wasn't going to post ALL of them! With one long thread, the casual user wouldn't be able to see some of the key benefits. Thought a few threads would make things a little easier.

You don't like our advertising? :)

VA 7037 is, however:

Flight Status for V Australia 7037
Scheduled departs in 2 hours 32 minutes
Departure AUH Abu Dhabi 9:00 25 Aug Terminal 3
Arrival CDG Paris 14:25 25 Aug Terminal 2A

So the airport in the ad is Abu Dhabi? :p

So that was a sneak preview of Virgin Australias very first J lounge then?

Qantas might have to change it's IFE to say instead of "You're on Q" to "You're in a Q"...

I actually laughed out loud when that part came up in the Velocity ad!

The look on the actor's face at 0:15 sums up the look on every AFF'ers face when they see the boarding queue before a Qantas flight.

Or maybe it's just me?

im willing to bet (quite a bit) it was shot in Sydney. If you have a look at the glass and steel frame, it's identical to the steel/glass frame in front of the sydney windows in the lounge.
I think most have guessed that is the case..

I know the girl at 0:23 that says "Thank-you Sir" at the Priority Checkin lane. If you look closely it looks like she is checking out the main character in the ad! I only noticed it when she pointed it out to me, and couldn't stop laughing.

I hadn't noticed that either, looks like she's checking out his bis bits......either that or he is gowatson and she's trying to check out his toes

Of course, it's actually the priority lounge entry queue!
