I just saw the new look Velocity website.
Personally, i kind of prefer the older version, and now i can't shop through the Velocity portal.
Everytime i tried to log into the shopping portal, it redirects me to the intro page. Frustrating.

I am a VA WP and I love flying with Virgin. But this just gets funnier and funnier...Velocity couldn't get a you know what, in a you know where, with a fist full of $100 notes

I can't find my membership summary or activity statement anywhere on the new site. Am I missing something? It looks like it's just a big advertising and information portal for the Velocity program, and doesn't have any services once you actually become a member.

Another website design without anyone thinking about the customer, it seems.

Once you are logged in, you lose the ability to go to your profile (this wasn't broken an hour ago).
If you find the "feedback" link for Velocity, it takes you to the old site where you can see your details on the right hand side as normal.

Or click this link: https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Help/CommentsFeedback/

what does the new site look like? Mine still looks the same.

I found out how:
  1. Click Menu
  2. Click Flying & Status
  3. Scroll all the way down to where it says "View your status credit balance"
  4. There's a link at the end of the paragraph
Seems this experience.velocityfrequentflyer.com subdomain is the gateway. That link will send you to the regular velocityfrequentflyer.com website.

Logging into the estore is fine.

Everything is working fine for me, including logging into the Velocity Estore....

Ooh.. they've now got a "My Account" section in the top right. Talk about staging their go-live! Keep the most critical things for current members hidden until the end.

I see my points/status now. Seriously, this is a weird roll out.

This WAS there this morning. I know, because I thought the "Gold" and colouring was a nice touch. Then it disappeared. Now it's reappeared. Wonder what will happen tomorrow?

Can anyone view the points tables? From this page Velocity Airline Partners there is a button at the bottom "Points Tables >" but it just redirects to a generic page?

This does very much seem like a 'marketing team' redesign - done on a huge mac display, where on my own screen everything appears so huge that whole sections of content barely or don't fit even though it's only a couple of paragraphs of text. Lots of scrolling. Very disorienting. Very difficult to find relevant sections/content.

No functionality or anything of actual value has been improved. As a member all the relevant information / status / account pages are the same as the old site.

Absolutely a marketing team redesign. Long sentences in all caps, giant images everywhere. It's like the print team got involved in a web project.

And in the "you can't be serious" category, table header text that wraps on itself? That's bad design.

I don't mind it. Some nice touches there. Home page looks a lot more modern.

As for the issues which I see...they will polish them all up over the next week or so.

I haven't been able to find a working mileage calculator either (there is a link on this page Earn Tables but it just re-directs back as well).

Also it appears they've severely cut the points earn on international short haul!

Bonus points offered for Platinum and Gold appear to have come down to 75% and 50% respectively on long and short haul flights too. Here's hoping it is an error on the website rather than a devaluation.
