Hi folks

I am new here so sorry as I am sure this questions has been answered many times before... I am looking for flights Perth or Australia to LHR with oneworld member...

1. how can I book economy PER to SIN (for example) and then business SIN to LHR?
2. are some days of the week generally cheaper to depart on?
3. what are thebest sites to look for cheap business flights generally.. i check webjet, expedia, lastminute and now here that I've found it.

Thanks all

Matt

Welcome to AFF, good to have you here!

Airlines such as Emirates allow you to book multi-fare itineraries I think, but not Qantas, so you’d have to do two bookings online, or possibly phone up the service centre, and for a few, get them to book the 2 (or 4) tickets for you.

I booked some flights a month ago for travel in June and found Tuesday/Wednesday to be cheaper days, but not significantly, especially if booking business, and chances are the prices fluctuate anyway, so have a look yourself and I’m sure you’ll notice some trends.

I guess it depends where you’d like to fly via, knowing you want OW airlines only cuts the list down significantly, but I know that a ticket to HKG say, and then a ticket from HKG onwards will be cheaper than booking solely from Australia.

I have heard Finnair has some good deal, though that requires to to fly to Helsinki, and then onwards to LHR.

CX will undoubtedly have some good fares from HKG.

If you have some rough travel dates, I’d visit multiple sites (I know, this’ll be harder and more time consuming that webjet or expedia) and have a play around, seeing what’s available when for what price. You’ll soon find that bargain ;)

The Finnair option is worth considering, especially if you are keen on staying with OW. For example, try to get a LCC cheapie to BKK (shouldn't be too hard from PER), then move over the AY for the rest of the trip. AY J class return fares can be had for around $3300 at the moment.

Hi Matt
Try a Cathay CX to HKG $850 (April) and then a QF or BA to LHR. Either can be booked by the airline website for that country or a zuji or expedia etc, they should be cheaper than standard Oz fares. Just watch your currency and credit card transaction costs. Try both the .au and country website.
QF leaves in the morning so your connection might be tight. BA flys at night if you want a day or so in HKG. If flying J (or F) with BA you can access the LHR terminal 5 arrivals lounge and QF arrive at T3 so you can use the AA lounge?, look up the reviews if this is of interest. Also the reviews of the various J class. If departing HKG generally mid week, Wed Thur are cheapest NOT Friday's. Also saw CX have a HK$35200, fare running in April ~ A$5100.

Fin are a good J class product. Mostly its about looking being flexible.

If you have points to get you out of Oz try some multi stop bookings to get back. There is an A$6k with BA HKG-LHR-SYD flying BA or QF in J class all the way. You could get the A380 fat boy  to Syd or Mel or part way to SIN and then Perth.

PS enjoy J it is hard but not impossible to go back to whY.
