Good evening all,

Just asking for a friend, does anyone have a clue when the next Qantas DSC can/will happen? Kinda remember pre covid they had one around late Sept/Early Oct.

Thanks.

No one knows unless you're an internal QF employee in the department and even then you probably don't know until they plan it.

They sometimes had a q3 targeted DSC offer. But as I've mentioned previously, I highly doubt there will be one this year again as it serves no purpose for QF other than extend or create more status passengers.

I highly doubt it. QF's motives are very differnt to VA.
VFF wants to steal QFF flyers over to VA and also keep their books looking better.

QFF customers want the brand to get back to it's glory days and also be able to spend their glut of points. Putting a DSC serves really no ones interest from QFs perspectives others than mint more Gold and Plats in a year that you don't even need that much SC to retain WP. (250 Rollover, 100 PCP, 75 sorry, 50 Green tier + DSC is a minimum of 475 SC for free) Heck you could easily hit 1200 without even hitting the 500 for loyalty bonus.

I expect more of this sort of points and classic rewards flight releases. They've done Europe and US. I expect a big drop into Asia as well at some point.
I'm not that fortunate - no rollover, no idea what PCP means, no green thingy... etc.

PCP means Points Club Plus one of Qantas’ elite tiers you can earn by accumulating 330,000 Qantas points in a program year without flying Qantas (and 20,000 points flying them). The benefits for such a feat include earning status credits on classic awards, the ability to roll over 100 status credits earned in a program year to the new year and Qantas Club membership to name but a few.

Green Tier is another loyalty scheme Qantas has devised where if you do five chores you can earn 50 bonus status credits or 8000 points.

Sometimes there are targeted offers to members of either group

I've never heard it referred to as an "elite tier" and it should be noted that the earning of status credits on award flights applies only to Qantas-operated flights.

Serves no purpose to QF?? You can't be serious, there is absolute no doubt that during these DSC offer periods sales are way up.

Do we have an understanding how much extra $$$ these how many extra planes QF have ordered going to cost?

Yes sir they need to offer DSC to boost revenue more than you'd believe.

Bottom line, bottom line, that's what counts, having many SG's & WP is not of concern and certainly doesn't pay for hundred million dollar jets.

Of course i know they get a lot of sales - but that does not help their reputation right now. Brand reputation is absolutely in the gutters which in the long term has a very significant impact on the bottom line - more so than any short term DSC gains. The investors and shareholders have already stated their displeasures with the direction of the company.

DSC would not serve their reputation any good in the general publics eyes, in fact it could even be seen as negative - why cater for the frequent flyers. They just want cheaper airfares or be able to use their huge banks of points.

Frequent flyers care about DSC more, but even then I'd say everyone would still prefer what they're currently doing with the CR and more ways to use points that don't feel like you're getting absolutely ripped off. Plus it gets people that might otherwise not fly QF back onto QF since they're using their points.

Still don't see any harm and only benefit from running a DSC offer especially on heels of VA having one. You failed to recognise the QF need for funds.

Reputation in the gutters for so many reasons, absolutely nothing to do with DSC offers.

On topic running next DSC offer nothing to do with recent troubles. Extra cash which QF desperately need.
