Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Currently drinking this Pimpernel 2011 Pinot Noir
The colour is MUCH lighter than the photo. Very earthy, smells fantastic. Wish I had more.
Sounds nice, I'm trying my first Meshach tonight- started off with a NV Veuve Clicquot to do my bit  while watching my bottle fed lambs pretending to be goats and climbing up an A frame shelter (king of the castle) I love spring ;)

Same here! 2009 vintage. Decanted for a couple of hours and the first glass is going down a treat.
2002 and I'm really disappointed thus far, I have to assume it's a faulty bottle but will give it some time and more air on the off chance it improves

DOP in Porto. Excellent food.

Wanted the '88 (1888 that is) or the '10, but MrsTMA doesn't like port. Had to settle for a very nice Vallado white.

I ate at his other restaurant DOC in the Douro earlier this year and had a fabulous meal! I was also able to byo a couple of nice purchases for dinner for a modest corkage fee. Can only imagine how good that 1888 would taste :D

We ate there on Monday night to complete the double. The original DOC was better, but DOP was also excellent.

We had the signature menu with accompanying wines.

Are Langtons under some obligation to honour the condition of bottles they sell retail?
I would assume so, with airation it was drinkable but very disappointing. I will let my broker know, I have 3 more, if the next is also a dud I will explore my options.

Ribera del Duero, Spain, Aalto wine tour. Very old vines here, fabulous reds.

Only two wines produced from 9 different vineyards and done 25 different plots and microclimates and soils.

Thanks AC, you're bang on the money, I must admit my palate veers towards reds that have bags of character and attitude, the Ringland shall remain a ticking fruit-bomb for a year or two longer....
