Good to hear after the poor 2010, though could that have been a Dan's storage issue?
Lazy Sunday lunch with friends. The Pol was to the BdB and amazingly fresh and young. A long life ahead of it. The Krug was from CM, 163 edition. Great condition with some nice bottle development happening. Bierzo was a $30 wine from VM. Served it blind and the crowd liked it. The Volnay was a big wine. I didn't initially pick this as Burgundy. The Tre Tine was absolute classic Barolo. My WOTN. The Margalit from Israel was a great example of Cab Franc with many years ahead of it too.

any notes on the Rinaldi Tre Tine?
Unfortunately no. I bough the case direct from Penfolds on release and stored with all the others. Just this vintage that has no reached its potential for me.
when I got myself a bottle of the 2013 I was going to open it,but the friend who got me this bottle from overseas stopped me and told me to double wrapped, double box and double pack it until the day comes(no details on that). Now that I check the price on this bottle I don’t think I can afford the next vintage.
Eldorado road Quasimodo, a shiraz,durif and Nero d’Avola blend , ........
Quite a fan of their wines
Think the Nero d'Avola in the Quasimodo blend really makes it sing. Their Comrade is a nice mid weight wine.
This old vine shiraz has a great story behind it, a good read on their website ,the winemaker spend over a decade just to get these old vines to grow again.
Elegant mix berry fruit ,Silky and good amount of oak just showing itself on the palate, not a powerful wine or ripe ,it doesn’t taste like a 10 year old wine, none of these wine does , it’s a good wine with its own character.

If you have more than a bottle , drink one maybe end of the year , that makes it over 10 years of age. We drink these between 4 people over 5 hrs, no signs of fading to the weak side.screw cap off for 6hrs to breath. Is this ready to drink or will there be cellaring upside?
I find screwcap in some cases almost doubles drinking windows. The 04 started very well, good cork ,sweet fruit aroma, mix berries ,dry herbs and a bit of toast, smooth tannins and a good finish.ready to drink now but should live for another 10.
07 was rough, don’t think it opened up after 6hr open cap from the morning, dark fruit, vanilla and creamy , hard to go away on the palate, need a lot more time, thanks to screwcap I think?!
10 was a bit more friendly than 07, but more aroma ,juicy dark fruit, plums ,feels like it just started going into the secondary stage, tannins not as hard as 07, or should I say 07 is more muscular and 10 is more elegant? Both very good.

I find Coonawarra Shiraz very underrated, especially in warmer years. There’s more than just good Cabernet in Coonawarra.

Cork failed on first attempt with the auto corkscrew, had to go manual on second try for successful rescue.
