Well i dunno but cheapest seat I can see is 1,500 dollars in biz with QF. What's the occasion? Really are they all that busy..šŸ«£

PER-MEL/SYD busy as well.

Iā€™m gonna guess schoolies (which starts next weekend).

Did you call QFF? Sometimes they can release a seat or two for Platinums

Yep 100% coldplay, flights to all major oz cities are stuffed 3 days either side. Can fly via Bali for cheaper though.

I was about to cancel a trip, had the outbound booked but the return was $$$$. Phoned and they released a seat for me thankfully.

Also noticing similar issues with Perth flights around the taylor swift concerts next year. In years past there were extra flights put on for major events but doesn't seem to be happening any more.

Yes I also saw the Air Asia and Batik flights via Bali....šŸ˜¬šŸ¤. World's crazy....with that route being cheaper..šŸ˜„šŸ«¢

Let me see, zeros across the board in all Y classes, only a few J seats showing on a couple of QF flights. Even JQ is bursting at the seams.

Even a vaunted World Platinum won't get a seat released when there's none for sale. Most definitely not in Y, and almost zero chance for J (given there's only a couple of D class showing on one or two flights, rest are C and J only).

According to the blurb on the Optus Stadium website, Coldplay are the most popular band in the world. Optus Stadium seats 60K+ fans. Therefore one would need to know this well in advance to get any sort of seatā€¦.

With that kind of revenue up for grabs, I'm surprised a revenue manager at QF or VA hasn't convinced someone to add an extra flight or two!
Agreed
And what happens for the average traveller in need of attending a funeral or last minute family emergency or VIP meeting ?

World Platinums and above can force Qantas to sell them 2 economy seats on any flight they operate provided the request is made before midday the day before departure.

Minor correction, the stadium was recently renamed to the Optus 'No Service' Stadium.

Itā€™s cheaper to fly to port Lincoln $1.399 via Brisbane JQ THEN onto Adelaide than it is direct to Adelaide
Big issue with flying to Port Lincoln is how do you get to Adelaide? Some people have an aversion of ground transport to their destination and could easily part away from several thousand dollary-doos in exchange for avoiding this inconvenience.

First one needs get to Adelaide to fly onto port Lincoln
Adelaide would be the ā€œhiddenā€ city ticketā€¦.

Also the Supercars are on the following weekend in Adelaide (from memory no race in Perth) so yeah thereā€™s another pressure on the flights from Perth to Adelaide

And then thereā€™s this

Luckily thereā€™s an ODI on the afternoon of 20 Nov so the playing squad doesnā€™t need to fly home before 21 Nov
They too could score tics to Coldplay hahaha

Although the T&Cs say that benefit ā€˜may be restricted due to operational constraintsā€™. Which might just be this category.

Bit unfair for a plat to unseat someone else who might be going to something like a concert.
