Bit unfair for a plat to unseat someone else who might be going to something like a concert.

With that kind of revenue up for grabs, I'm surprised a revenue manager at QF or VA hasn't convinced someone to add an extra flight or two!

QF have put on 787s in place of 737s for some flight, not that the 787s have that many extra seats over a 737

[WP] and above can force Qantas to sell them 2 economy seats on any flight they operate provided the request is made before midday the day before departure.

I think section 20.7.1(d) of the T&C's of QFF may come into play here.

Other than that the base Y/B fares on for MEL-PER route start at $1132+++ and go to $1677+++.

Although the T&Cs say that benefit ‘may be restricted due to operational constraints’. Which might just be this category.
