While turbulence itself never worries me; I have a problem with the seat belt signs staying on for extended periods and, egad, no service! :shock:
 
It can be done. I was also on a SYD-PER that was scheduled at 5 hours and did it in well under 4.
I was not saying it can't be dine under 4 hours. I was saying the pilot cannot reduce the flights time by 20% just be flying faster. Your example (and I have had some very short flights trans-continental as well) is a result of favourable wind conditions and not because the aircraft was flown faster (air speed) than normal.

So the faster flight was a reduction off the scheduled time (which is a worst case flight time) and not a reduction from the flight plan (which is individual for each flight) due to burning more fuel and flying faster.
