No more 747 F services to LAX

But they have just replaced QF107/108 with a 744 - the SYD-LAX leg was always a 744, but until this change recently the LAX-JFK leg was serviced by an A330. Or did that A330 go on to QF25/26?

In any event, the seat map online is still showing as a 744 with F for my flight, so I'm still hoping!

The A330 went SYD-AKL-LAX-JFK and back. Changed flight numbers along the way.

Though still F on the 747 to other destinations for 15 months.Still selling it on the JNB route 12 months out.

I think this is good news. I prefer the A380 in any case and do whatever I can to avoid those old 747s. If you DO end up on the latter after all (either for timing or because QF as ever so often swaps equipment in the last second ), then at least you get a proper flat bed. The occasional F upgrade I can still get whenever I'm flying on an A380.

6 were deferred. There are still 2 more due for delivery (I think in 12 months)
It is unclear whether they will have First or not. The original plan was 12 with, 8 without, but that was before the deferral.

That was plan 'c' ... I think the recent deferral is part of plan 'e' ...

you betcha - the real one hasn't been published/circulated ... :p

The plan is nothing.... Planning is everything......

Given we are talking about QF - that means.....errr....umm....scratch that thought ;)

I don't know what's in store for plan 'f', but I hear plan 'g' will be a real kicker...

It's sad to see F going from the 747's, I am a little puzzled that they didn't keep some degree of F service on them as some sort of "advertising" \ upgrade for loyal flyers.
