:( Alas my favorite drink has gone from the menu in J class now its water or oj, can someone tell me what it actually is as I do like it, can I buy it premixed?

Another enhancement :(

Even though I don't fly Virgin, the more they "enhance" the more QF will "enhance"

That being said offering a "mocktail" is not really that professional

Damn, it was my favourite drink as well. I thought it had been taken off some flights, but was still available (24 April) as I took a photo.

Vale Mocktail....

It has been officially removed from the menu and refreshed with a brand new offering of 'water and juice'..... as VA put it

See this extract from an email response I received from them:

The mocktail has been on the menu for over three years now and has been

popular. We wanted to try something different and are now offering guests a

choice of fresh orange juice and / or mineral water upon boarding, along with a

range of soft drinks, premium wines and beers during the flight. I appreciate

your feedback and

have forwarded your comments to our Product and ECommerce teams for their review

Also VA.... what mineral water?

Well then we need to comment to VA, to bring it back.

I can see it now, the BBCMJ movement - Bring Back Cranberry Mocktail in J

I've posted on FB and Twitter :D

So they wanted to try something different and instead are now offering juice or water? Gee, that's different.
I loved the mocktail.

Very different... instead of offering 3 drinks (i.e. water/OJ for morning and water/MT for afternoon) they now offer 2.... really innovative product update.

(minus the glaringly obvious cost reduction)

While I don't fly Virgin it's this sort of change that peevs people off. Why can't they simply offer two drinks?

QF have done the same thing with Crown Larger in the QP, offering Boags as it's replacement. Do they employ stupid lounge managers, can't they just offer an extra type of beer rather than cutting one with another.

Both airlines are the same in this regard, hopeless. The BAM offers more selection.

Damn!!

With a little vodka that made a perfect drink after a long day.

Any idea on maker/ brand anyone?

One other thing with the J drinks... would it not be better to ask the passenger what pre-departure drink they would like before takeoff instead of turning the already poured drinks that passengers don't want?

Then they could offer effectively any of their non-alcoholic drinks proving J travellers and 4-5 options and reducing wastage.

New status benefit: anytime self-serve access to the Business Class galley bar cart.

I think Platinums fly enough to be trusted ;):p

Mineral water on board is welcome, however. The last time I was in J they didn't have any (even QF Y does)

QF have not had sparkling mineral water in domestic Y for a long time - and they have recently discontinued Soda Water!

My bad! It's been a while since I flew QF Y.

That is disappointing news, however.

I got some traction on my twitter post (from some AFF'ers and general public) and the stock standard response from VA.

oh well, obviously a #firstworldproblem

I've now had pre-departure cranberry juice served on two Qantas (Domestic J) flights in the last few months! It is much sweeter that what VA use to have though.
