No show on A380 between checking in with luggage and boarding

Just so. I've rarely seen the gate close at the stated time before departure. Sometimes still boarding at depature time.

It's all well and good to have a "boarding time", and for domestic flights they tend to be pretty close to the mark. However I've found on the bigger planes / longer international routes, the official "boarding time" is very flexible. I'm not sure if it's a combination of more people requiring assistance, more things to organise or just they want people down at the gate nice and early, but on several of my most recent long hauls I can think of only one flight which we boarded on time. (that was at SIN).

Experineced flyers alway arrive early, even for the Priority Lane.

Experienced flyers don't always arrive early. They simply know the system, and get to the gate when they know they want to get to the gate, be it early, late, or mid boarding. I assume, by and large, experienced flyers are not the ones being offloaded with checked luggage in the hold.
