This is good news for Qantas frequent flyers who can now look forward to a ... vodka & ginger beer.

Will we though? I have been asking for ginger beer the last few times I've flown and been told they don't have it anymore, just the regulars like coke, lemonade, etc... compared to pre-pandemic when they used to stock bundaberg ginger beer on board. I'm not sure they do anymore.

I doubt they've been carrying tonic water either as it's no good without the gin, but I'd imagine now they have spirits the tonic, ginger ale and possibly ginger beer will be back too.

About time. I can just imagine how some members of the executive board had to pull old Joicy kicking and screaming through the boardroom in order to finally get this reinstated. Appalling, really.

Wonder if my 0150 departure tomorrow is too early to warrant a celebratory G&T?

Good to see that they finally realised their lies weren’t just cutting it any more
Lies not going to fly and offloaded from trol-lies - uplifting spirits (not just in bar carts)...

Maybe the stockpile of pre-covid wine is finally depleted and they've finally worked out that spirits are actually cheaper than wine

I wonder if spirits will return in Y? Obviously removed well before covid, so I doubt it.

That QF has improved their catering game is something I'll believe when I see it. After all, how could I, a rusty traveller accurately set my expectations with such a glorious airline as Qantas - Australia's flagship and world leader. Will you now forgive me Uncle Alan? 😂

Joking aside, my next confirmed domestic QF J flights are in January ( SYD > MEL > AKL > SYD > MEL > SYD), potentially December if I can secure the J upgrade for my flight to CBR then (I'm aware MEL > AKL > SYD is technically considered international, but it's domestic in my book!)

Not to go too far off topic, but I've found the on-board meals to be acceptable. Certainly not the best J meal I've had on an airline. Hopefully the corners Uncle Alan adds back to the jigsaw puzzle will make these 10,000 point J upgrades a compelling argument.

Virgin had sprits last June in B/C..QF has used Covid to the upmost for cutting anything that looks like service.
