Booked on Thursday to travel MEL-CFS-MEL for $210. Sadly return flight already cancelled so re-routed via SYD. No great drama there but departure time was 4:50pm now 9:15am! This is why QF can charge a premium - they want $250 CFS-SYD-MEL departing in the afternoon.

Hopefully VA will let me change to a later SYD-MEL flight, could get myself out to Brighton for lunch then down to MEL in the late afternoon I guess. Shame to lose a day.

True, but it is an extra $150 to fly CFS-SYD-MEL with QF in Y. And VA have kept me in Business for both sectors (platinum upgrade used). I'm just going for leisure and having not been before it seems without hiring a car that one full day will probably suffice.
