No wine in OOL Virgin lounge

My poor mother flew Virgin business class from OOL to MEL today. She was in the lounge this afternoon and said there was no wine. I thought this was strange and checked whether she asked the staff for some and she did and they said they didn’t have any. I noticed the AFF review of the BNE lounge said there was wine in the arvo. Does this vary from lounge to lounge?

Out of interest was there any beer on offer, this sounds like they might not have a liquor license for the Gold Coast lounge right now?

Every lounge differs, Brisbane has been different a few weeks since opening. I'm not a huge wine fan but on my last visit to Brisbane they had Green Beacon's Tropical Pale Ale (in my opinion much better than any beer they had pre covid or over in QF land).

No beer either apparently, so it could be a licence issue.

On a slightly related note there were spirits on offer (in miniature bottles) a couple of weekends ago in the Sydney lounge.

I'm told the OOL lounge will begin serving alcohol from today, with beer & wine available from 1pm.
