Being a frequent traveller on Melbourne trains, I am quite impressed with the Quiet carriages, which makes for a pleasant journey, even the conductors caution people if they are getting out of hand with their noise.

How about a section in the Qantas lounges being a Quiet zone? Imagine you wouldn't have to listen to the very important people on their phones and other nuisances, and so I don't get bawled out for not being considerate I didn't mention children.

But you did mention children ;)

Re children, do QF not provide child/family friendly zones in a number of their QP's?

I recall seeing quiet zones in some Qantas domestic lounges. I know I approached one 'gentleman' speaking loudly on his phone and indicated to him that he was in the quiet zone by pointing out the sign clearly stating 'Quiet Zone'. He moved off to another area of the lounge.

All I will say is think JP. Quite on the local lines, shinkansen and airline lounges have booths for phone calls.
