Just moved over from QFF to Velocity and would like to book 1-way Business Class for next year.
Looking at the VFF points table, it's 3752 miles and starts at a minimum 57,800 points.
When I look up the availability of seats for the 7th April 2017, the lowest number of points required is 92,100 for a Business Reward seat.
Is this just bad timing/luck on my part?
Will more Reward seats be released later on for 57,800 points?
Thanks for any advice!

Hi,

I think you're looking at the wrong points table. For redemptions on Singapore airlines (VA don't fly to SIN), it's 80,000 points (Table 2). 92,100 are the points required to also pay your taxes - you can see when searching the number of points excluding taxes is shown in smaller text.

Coming down to 65,000 on 1 Jun. Other option is to transfer ~ 63,200 points to Krisflyer and book online from SQ website. Surcharges will be higher though, but availability may be better.

Thanks, Sludge321.
I think I understand. Because it's co-shared with Singapore Airlines, I'll be using more points? On the Redemption webpage, I only get to see 2 columns - Business Reward and Business seat points. What do you mean by Table 2? Is that a downloadable PDF?
Regards.

UPDATE: I found the table you were referring to.

Cheers dajop.
I'm waiting for the promotion to join KrisFlyer, where they offer bonus points. Hopefully there's one coming up.
I'll then transfer enough points for us to use on SQ.

Hi dajop.
Forgot to ask what the conversion rate is from VFF to KrisFlyer. I think I read somewhere that it's 1.3 VFF = 1 KF?

It's 1.35 to 1. In both directions. So I suggest only transferring what you need.
