Northern WA & Crossing the Continent by Train

After we arrived into Adelaide at 720 am, we quickly ducked home to drop off a suitcase, shower and coffee up before heading back to the train station.
We departed Adelaide at 1020am and we headed to the lounge bar for a Bloody Mary and the staff brought around some scones Jam and cream.

We had lunch at 1215 in the restaurant and after a couple wines, another afternoon nap was required in our room!
The tour was cancelled in Broken Hill account signalling works in NSW, so it was a quick train crew change and we departed the BH for Sydney.

Track condition after Broken Hill is horrendous,
And has been like this for the last 15 years I’ve been in rail. I’m not sure what happens after Broken Hill with track maintenance but The condition is shocking.
Dinner was cauliflower soup, eye fillet, and banoffie pie
With a bumpy night ahead in the sleeper, we drank the train clean of port and then started on the muscat.
This turned out to be the best solution, as it was my best nights sleep!
The next morning it was some quick breakfast on the restaurant before alighting at Mt Victoria for the tour of Katoomba and the blue mountains.
We were taken to scenic world, then to Echo point for lunch and taken back to central via a chartered suburban train from Katoomba.

And that concludes the Train trip, it was a great trip, we had a ball, I think we were the only ones on the train that had to go back to work on Monday 😜
We met 2 couples who loved a wine or two and by the conclusion of the trip, had lost their voice and were exhausted from the daily drinks and laughs with us.

Thanks for the great TR. I agree on the state of the track after Broken Hill (though we had it going the other direction). Not a good night's sleep. But still love being on the train.
