So dinner and drinks it was last night. Forgot to take a picture of the Charles Heidsick bottle...but we all know what it looks like :)

A post breakfast swim was in order. Pleasant enough say in Sydney.

Well QR Q-suites...what can I say. Absolutely amazing. I also realised having an enclosed suite resolves the age old window shade up or down issue. Who cares! You're in your own little world so it doesn't matter what other people in the cabin do :)

MrsDaver6 and I had a centre couples seat. Spacious and really comfortable. Food, service and presentation of everything was spot on. My only complaint was the seat is a little on the hard side, even with the mattress thing they put on.

A few pictures of the menus, food etc

Now one rather annoying thing. Just checking seats for our future QR flights and I noticed that the LHR - DOH flight has had an aircraft change. No more Q-suites. To add insult to injury its got two generations old J seats. 2-2-2 on a 777. Uggh!

A quick look suggests there's a QR flight 90 minutes earlier which does have Q-suites. This will actually give a better connection on DOH connecting to MLE (currently 45 minutes which is their MCT). I gave QF a call to see what they could do. They agree this is a bit of a bait and switch and will put in the ask to QR. Currently no J reward seats, but fingers crossed QR do the right thing and make amends.

Currently sitting in the Aspire lounge awaiting our SK flights to BGO via ARN, A good enough place to pass the time.

Even if your request doesn't come through, you are on QR! There are worse things in life!

Bloody millennials - their lack of respect for their elders is only exceeded by their lack of imagination and sense of adventure... :p

BTW, from your own photo upthread, I draw your attention to this:

DND.JPG

I've always thought that QR, in setting the specs and functions for QSuites, had some imagination and were providing hints - more imagination and more hints than a millennial can cope with, obviously .

You do know what DND means and for what purpose, don't you? - DON'T YOU? ;):p

'Fess up. It's all private here - nobody else is reading this rubbish. 😁

Joining along on this trip report. Great reading so far.
We experienced Q suites last week for the first time.

We managed to see the Aurora Australis on our way back from the Ross Sea. As mentioned earlier about the northern version, we found getting decent photos very difficult. Video was easier and in the end more visible. A monopod might have helped, but not a whole lot, as the ship was moving a fair bit and the wind was howling.I hope you get to see them. It was amazing and very glad that the captain woke up the whole ship for the spectacle.

Apologies for the lack of updates. We got back to PER with PERfect weather late on Tuesday night.

In summary, it was an amazing holiday. The cruise in Norway far far exceeded expectations. Europe was great catching up with friends and family and the Maldives are everything you see on postcards.

There were several annoyances with Qatar, some almost lost duty free booze and a few service issues at the Conrad Maldives. I'll slowly update this thread in chronological order over the next few weeks. As I go, if people have questions or would like more details on anything, please ask! :)
