Numpty question on points upgrade

I have just spoken to QF. Nice lady on the phone seemed to know what she was doing. She confirmed that the date the request is lodged didn't matter, and that status and fare are what's looked at when processing points upgrades. She said my request was still sitting there as a "Bronze" request even though in the PNR the FF status had been automatically upgraded - so she simply cancelled the prior request and re-lodged it as a "Gold" request.

Thanks for all your advice. :)

PS - loving the much shorter/practically non-existent wait times on the phone now that I've ascended to the glorious heights of QFF SG. :p I wonder what it'll be like when WP....

All Chairmans Lounge are done first by fare bucket from most to least expensive.

Then all Plats are done by fare bucket from most to least expensive.

The all Golds are done by fare bucket from most to least expensive.

Then all Silvers are done by fare bucket from most to least expensive.

Then all non stats members are done by fare bucket from most to least expensive.

This is very close, but there is another factor involved in this equation which is why some FFSL will be upgraded before FFPL at times. I cant release it publicly, but it is something to do with potential revenue.

And Qantas Club means nothing when it comes to upgrades.

How does QF work that out on RTW tickets? Hopefully they won't have a way of working out how much revenue they are getting from their share of my el-cheapo DONE before departure then.:lol: I mean, unless they are able to see the entire itinerary and/or price quote record (unlikely if ticketed by another carrier hosted on another GDS) and determine actual potential revenue, this will vary a lot and depends on where someone bought the ticket. Though the majority of xONEs (bought by 90% of the sane traveling public) would represent adequate yield to their participating carriers I'd imagine.

Potential revenue is on a much grander scale than just your upcoming flights.
There is a whole computer program designed around it. It is extremely complex.

Code:
[color="silver"]F > A > [/color]J > C [b]> D >[/b] I > W [b]> T >[/b] Y > B > H > K > M [b]> L >[/b] V > S [COLOR="Silver"]> N > Q > O > X > E[/COLOR]

With Qantas related discussion I have come across "PCV rating" is the term used to indicate the value used to rate Customers. (Perceived Customer Value?)

I'm pretty sure he means what revenue could you bring to QF.EG you have just arrived with 3 amigos to head up a major Aussie outfit and you are QFNB-they may just think you should be treated well-though I guess with this particular scenario no further upgrade would be possible.:)

And the upgrade has cleared!! :D My booking was already upgraded to FCL when I checked at midnight last night, which was about T-17.

Looking forward to 21 hours of noice FCL champers swilling... now if there was some way to upgrade the BA leg to DOH from Club straight after so it won't feel like a 'step down.' :p

Enjoy the champers!

It is always nice when an upgrade comes through.
