Nuts to Qantas

Warm nuts are great. AA do it very well in domestic F.

Agreed, nonpop. I have always looked forward to that. Then again, the vanilla icecream sundae (crushed nuts) on some international AA F tops everything.

On my status run earlier in the month, I was offered Santos nuts mix with almonds and cashews. There were also ones with wasabi peanuts which I really am not fond of....

The three packets I'd encountered were almonds, almond/cashew mix and wasabi peanut/almond mix. Also packets of pretzels.

Don't recall ever getting nuts on a DJ flight apart from SYD-PER on the A330. Do they offer these on any other services?

Interestingly, however, I was just offered (and ate) a bowl of nuts in the MEL QF J lounge, exactly like the DJ nuts.

Ah, competition...good for the consumer.

They were offering nuts at the tables at the Mel J lounge on Tuesday too!

I like cashews too!

They have been offering almonds and wasabi peas on recent Flights.

Love the almonds.

Not so much the peas.

Roast Almonds and Wasabi Peas in J and F on my QF flight to LHR. Mighty fine......but those Wasabi peas are going to catch a few folk off guard!!

Just be thankful you were not on Philippine Airlines like we were recently (had no choice to our chosen destination) the nuts were in a packet about size of a 50 cent piece, bit bigger than a pin head, dry as the whole 20 of them!, pity they carried no soft drinks or cold water on board either to wash them down.

I received a packet of almonds and cashews (in the old silver packaging) when travelling in J from PER to HKG yesterday. So I can report they are still available (maybe old stock however).

Haha - You're certainly right, wasn't what I was expecting. Had them last week on a domestic J flight. They are strong (for me anyway). Tried to like them but the're not my cup of tea. I'm normally a fan of Wasabi in small doses. Luckily they had some similar packets of Almonds without the Wasabi peas which were great.

I honestly doubt it is cost cutting, I think I could safely assume the unit price of those packets is the same.

I find the J nut service domestically very inconsistent.

In my last 6 J flights, I only had the nut service offered twice (it was the almond & wasabi peas which I quite like).

Screw the nuts. They should serve pitted olives instead of the unpitted ones I've come across.

Agreed about the 'sample" peanut offering... One time I had an early domestic flight on PAL MNL/ILO & feeling a little parched had requested for a coffee & orange juice.. the FA mentioned that I could only have a choice of 1.. I politely mentioned that actually I should have around 30 credits for the previous flights where I didn't have any beverage offerings

Perhaps you could pit your own by squeezing them between your thighs where ones balls used to be - given the suggestions on the effect of hot nuts elsewhere in this thread!
