I'm flying J on frid SQ 232 from SYD-SIN but on a ticket issued by VA (VA 5510).

I have VA platinum status, star alliance gold (via TK) and it's a J ticket.

My question is whether there's any point trying to get into the NZ lounge in Sydney in this situation? I have used the Sydney SQ lounge recently and I haven't been in the NZ one since they renovated it so I thought it could be worth a look.

It looks like it's technically not allowed on a VA issued ticket but curious if anyone had any experience in practice.

Star alliance Gold and J in SQ should get you in I think.

Star do work on the operating airline rules so should not be a issue, however the NZ lounge can be very busy so they may turn you away because of that reason.

Thanks. I will stick my head in and see how I go if time allows.
