Air New Zealand will no longer interline bags for pax with flights in separate pnrs whether it is an NZ flight or on another airline.

The only exception is pax who are permitted to transit without a visa in NZ eg some South American nationalities who would not be permitted to enter the country to collect their luggage and checkin again.

How LCC of them. Wonder what moron in accounts thought this was a good idea.

AFAIK, Air NZ have had a policy of not interlining baggage for several years when on separate tickets, *A connection on not.

Yes, sometime an agent will do so, but it's been the exception rather than the rule.

Maybe they have refined and republished the rule.

I read an article a few weeks ago speculating that NZ CEO Rob Fyfe could be lined up to replace AJ........with decision like this one, he's a natural fit for the orange cancer.

It wasn't too long ago a lot of people were singing his praises!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

what a shame, NZ get so many things right but this is just PLAIN WRONG

Makes you appreciate what we have here more.

Seriously QF should look at a management buyout. You could pick them up next to nix.

I suspect that there are a number of people who would be happy to see certain management personnel "bought out"

I'd just settle for a management team that realized profits can be made somewhere besides SYD.
