Hi All,

Apologies if this is explained elsewhere - I've searched and saw the question asked but not an answer provided ...

Is it possible (possibly using a workaround to obtain a NZ locator) to select a seat on NZ operated flight booked using a VA Codeshare?
MMB and TA both say airport check-in, but they ain't AFF!

Regards,

BD

You can call the Air NZ call centre and they are very accommodating. Also, double check they have your VA status listed (if applicable) as this unlocks the slightly better seats.

Yes, call up Virgin to get your AirNZ booking reference number, then you'll need to call up AirNZ and give them the number and have them assign your seat. I've done this previously.

I flew on a 763 and chose to seat in row 10 (VA Gold) and found that my ticket was upgraded to a "Works" seat, when I only booked a Saver Fare.

Thanks dec540, madmouse58,

As wonderfully helpful the AirNZ call centre staff are, unfortunately we went through the whole selection process (the system even saying "no charge") - but then wouldn't actually apply the change.

Looks like I'll need to be at the airport early to avoid a middle seat ... grrrr!

Regards,

BD

Do you have your NZ PNR and tried the app to select seats on the NZ site?

I know this is how Ive selected seats in the past.
